The Granville Fellowship is a non-profit organization that serves members 60 and older.
The main focus of the Granville Fellowship is to provide social, cultural, and education programs and activities in a meaningful and positive environment. In addition they provide resources for older adults and their families pertaining to issues related to being a senior citizen in our community.

REGULAR EVENTS

Monday and Wednesday: 11:00 Low Impact Exercise at Granville Library

Monday: 12:30 Dominoes – Game Day

3rd Monday: 12:00 Free lunch, 12:30 Bingo – must register

Tuesday: 9:30 Watercolor Group – open, bring supplies and paint

Tuesday: 11:00 Gentle Yoga (call for details)

Tuesday 1:00 Canasta

3rd Tuesday – Monthly Luncheon w/ free blood pressure checks, lunch is $7.00 must register

1st Thursday of Month- Meet and Eat ( members meet at various restaurants in Licking County). No bus service – Meeting September at Big Apple Café in Newark and meeting October at Kanji Japanese Steakhouse in Heath.  11:30. Call for details.

Thursday 1:00 Mah Jongg – come and play.  This is an open group who teach as they play,
new members are welcome!

Thursday 1:30 Bridge Group – please call for details for this group.

2nd Thursday – Birthday Lunch.  12:00
If you are a senior citizen and you’re celebrating a birthday this month, please join us for lunch!

3rd Thursday – Evening Euchre  7-9 p.m.

4th Thursday – 11:30 to 1, Book Club, bring your lunch and join our book discussion, call the center for current months book selection.

Friday 1:30 Bridge Groups (we have two groups that play)  call for details.

NEW PROGRAMS

Senior Fitness

9:00 Monday

Senior Fitness is a 45 minute exercise program that includes 15-20 minutes of low impact aerobics, followed by balance work and resistance training with hand weights. Those who are able to get on floor will do so for additional strength and stretching.

Meditation Class

10:00  Wednesday

Experience your own: (Deep Listening by Melody) Awareness, Wisdom, Voice. , Helping you: Experience support and insight, Find direction, understanding and clarity, Grow individually, spiritually and feel greater connection, Formulate an Intention Statement or Question, Listen to your intuitive self.  Taught by Melody Ramsay, M.A., M.Ed.

Men’s Yoga

Thursday – 4:15 to 5:30

Class will begin with Gentle Yoga.  Men only, no previous experience necessary.
Taught by Jodi Schmidt.

Memoir Writing Class

Thursday – 10:00 to 12:00.

“Into the Country of Memoir Writing”….writing the stories that are important to you.  Facilitated by Doris Jane Conway.  Doris Jane has a degree in English composition and art history. She has since taken a number of writing courses, including ones taught
by a master memoir-writer.  Class participants will write short pieces and read to each other in a safe setting during class time.  Writing between sessions is an expectation of class participation.

Beginner’s Bridge

Tuesday – 10:00 to 11:00.

Learn how to play bridge. Basic card knowledge is helpful, but not required.   This class will be taught by Susan Karian.

TRIPS

Trips require RSVP’s, bus leaves from St. Edward’s Catholic Church in Granville.

October 20

Trip to German Village -
Lunch at Schmidt’s Sausage House and some shopping in German Village. Cost is $10.00 Lunch is on your own.  Leave at 10 return to Granville by 3:30-4:00.

October 31

Senior Living Festival at Veterans Memorial.   Festival runs from 10 am to 2 pm.  Free event will feature: Cooking demonstrations, informational exhibits, door prizes, live entertainment, recreational activities, Medicare check-ups. Bus transportation is also Free, provided by Granville Fellowship.  Lunch is on your own. Leave St. Edwards Church at 10 a.m. return to Granville at 3.

November 4

Trip to Ballet Met,
“Carmen”.   Cost will be $35.00,
which includes bus transportation and ticket to ballet.  We will stop for lunch either in downtown or Easton, lunch will be on your own.

SPECIAL PROGRAMS FACILITATED BY THE GRD

Holiday Senior Dinner

The GRD hosts Granville seniors (age 55+) at an annual Holiday Senior Dinner on a Saturday evening at St. Edward Church Newark Granville Road. A traditional holiday dinner and entertainment are provided. Please check the website in the fall for details!

Senior Bingo and Box Lunch

Each 4th of July weekend, the GRD hosts a boxed lunch and bingo at their tent in Opera House Park. Lunch reservations are required. Check the website in the summer for details.
