The Granville Kiwanis are holding their second annual Holiday Hoops Tournament on December 28th & 29th. The tournament will consist of both varsity and junior varsity games.

The mission of the Granville Kiwanis Club is to serve the children of the world, while at the same time serving our local community. The Granville Kiwanis Club sponsors the Granville 4th of July Celebration, Pancake Day, Maple Syrup Sales, the Maple Leaf 5K, The Granville Kiwanis Scholarship, YES Clubhouse, and numerous other activities benefitting charities and the youth of the world.

The Granville Kiwanis Holiday Hoops Tournament is yet another vehicle for providing service to our community. Proceeds from the 2012 tournament will be donated to: The New Life Baby Pantry; The American Heart Association in memory of Don Snelling (longtime supporter of Granville High School Athletics and basketball scorekeeper); The Granville Recreation District Scholarship Fund; YES Clubhouse, and the Granville Kiwanis Foundation.

The planning committee for the tournament has asked GRD if we would like to supply the ball boys for the games. We believe this is a special opportunity for our players to support our school and watch basketball at the high school level. The ball boys will be able to attend the games free of charge, but parents/guardians/siblings will need to pay. Andy Wildman will be present at all of the games, standing near the entrance, to direct the boys where they need to go.
