Eight local agencies have worked jointly to bring you 7 days of unique programming that we hope will challenge you to turn off your screens and read, play, go outdoors and get in touch with your community. Be sure to log your “unplugged” hours at the end of the week in our brief online survey (here) and you will be automatically entered into a drawing to win great prizes like $150 gift card to readers garden, a family sports package, and more! Deadline for survey submissions is May 8th by 5PM. Winners will be announced on Friday, May 10th!

Zoo To You Kick-Off
Turn off those screens and get wild!  Drop by and get up close and personal with animals from the Columbus Zoo! Plus we’ll have fun yard games and activities for your little animals from 2:00-4:00PM! For the safety of the animals, the Zoo can only stay for one hour. So don’t miss out! Sponsored by Granville Public Library and GRD

Historian Thomas Hankins will present a portrayal of Timothy Rose. Rose was among the original founders of Granville and fought in the Revolutionary War. Sponsored by Granville Historical Society

Richard Downs will review the current science/technology involved in the growing solar industry and discuss the financial aspects of installation/operation of residential solar energy systems. Photo Walk–Local Architecture
Grab your cameras (and gadgets too!) and join photographer Liz Argyle and local historian Tom Martin for a Photo Walk around the downtown. Granville Recreation District Sports Equipment Swap

On May 4th, as part of the Turn Your Screen Off Week and The Great Granville Garage Sale, the GRD will be holding a sports equipment swap! The GRD is looking for donations of gently used sports equipment (like bats, lacrosse sticks, baseball pants, face masks, cleats, roller blades, ice skates, ski equipment, and anything else recreation related). We will not be accepting helmets. Each donated item will get you a ticket that will allow you to swap your donated item for something else on May 4th on the lawn of the Robbins Hunter Museum. If you don’t have an item to swap that is fine, for a nominal charge you will be able to purchase any item. All proceeds will benefit the Grace Dils Scholarship Fund.

We will have these designated Sport Equipment drop off days:
• April 27th – at the Ballpark Opening Day Ceremonies (Raccoon Valley Park), 9:00AM-NOON
• May 1st – at the GHS & GMS entrances to the school, 7:30-8:00AM
• May 1st – at the GIS & GES entrances to the school, 8:30-9:00AM
