Mini Camps

This class will teach participants the entry level tips, tricks and strategy of the Pokemon franchise. They will also strategize small teams of Pokemon to complete challenges given in each class culminating in a duo team competition between students. Instructor is Grant Prasher. Class held at the GHS.

This fun class is designed with kids of all ages in mind! We will playfully work on developing flexibility, social skills, visual imagery, relaxation techniques, and positive thinking while practicing simple yoga poses. Participants learn how to focus their minds and practice relaxing breathing techniques too.
Instructor: Abby Huth – 5 yrs experience in Pediatric Occupational Therapy & Certified Kid’s Yoga Instructor.

In this clinic participants will spend a fun-filled week learning the basic skills of basketball through demonstration, practice, contests and games. Camp will leave you feeling excited about the game
of Basketball. Instructor is Sara Lee, Denison University Physical Education Professor & Women’s Basketball Coach.

Did you know that tennis is an Olympic sport and is played at all levels of society and at all ages? It is truly a life-long sport. Clinics will focus on instruction in basic tennis strokes, volleys, ground strokes and
serving. Players will also learn the fundamentals of playing the game. Instructor: Clint Storey, GRD Middle School Coach & Pro at Granville Tennis Club

Saturdays April 9 – May 14 from 10:30 – 11:30 AM at Wildwood Park (No game April 16)
GO Soccer is for any child between the ages of 4 to 14 years old who has ANY kind of disability which prevents meaningful, enjoyable or easy play in the standard Granville Recreation District sports programs. Siblings of the target child are invited to participate for fun too! 
They may come at ANY time during the season to check it out and see if it is for them. If possible children will be paired with a “Soccer Buddy” who will provide encouragement, friendship and guidance during the session. 
Soccer sessions will occur once a week for an hour. It will be structured to encourage everyone to learn skills, practice skills and have fun!! Every participating target child will receive a T-shirt. 
Soccer Buddies can earn volunteer hours while sharing and participating in a sport they love!! 
Any potential family member or potential Soccer Buddy who has questions about the program are encouraged to contact the GRD anytime to talk about the program and what it is like.

Tuesdays, June 7, 14,21,28. From 5:15 – 6:15PM

This 60 minute class will be led by Ruth Myers a China-certified instructor. Qigong is a daily anti-aging practice that opens the heart and mind, increases flexibility and focus. It differs from Thai Chi which is a martial arts based form predominantly using the hips. In Zhineng practice, one stands in place with arms at times out stretched. The body moves in place through three sections of form while exchanging universal life energy. All levels of fitness are welcome, come relax the mind and enhance your flexibility and intention.
