JOB DUTIES: The Granville Recreation District provides both educational and recreational programming during the school year and over the summer.  We are always looking for new and interesting classes to offer.  March 1, 2018 is the submission deadline for classes to be included in our Spring/Summer program guide. OPEN POSITION: 2018 Summer Camp Instructor

JOB DUTIES: The GRD is offering 3 weeks of Outdoor Summer Camps at Infirmary Mound Park and is looking for an instructor.  The day camps are for children in grades 2-6 and held the weeks of June 25th, July 9thand  July 30th  from 8AM – 4PM. Weekly outdoor adventures will include fishing, canoeing, hiking and planning daily crafts and games.  If you are interested in all 3 weeks or just 1 or 2 please contact Lesa Miller, Program Director via email or 740-587-2017.

The Granville Recreation District is always seeking qualified, creative and positive people to become part of our team. OPEN POSITION: Summer Interns (Programming or Sports)

REPORTS TO: Programming Director or Youth Sports Director
JOB DUTIES: The Granville Recreation District also offers internship opportunities for students pursuing a degree in Recreation, Leisure Studies or related field at an accredited university.  Responsibilities will include assisting with projects, programs and events within numerous areas of the district including but not limited to youth athletics, special events, senior programming, facility management, general programming, administration, budgeting and maintenance.

The majority of assigned work will be in the area of youth athletics or programs and community events.  Interns may work with various sport leagues and programs but also have an opportunity to take on special studies or projects.  Examples from previous internships are creation, marketing and implementation of a community 5K, implementation of a new online registration system, analysis of specific programming costs, research and proposed policy modifications such as park signage and rules.

Interns join our small staff and have the opportunity to be exposed to and involved in almost all aspects of the recreation department including staff and board meetings, website and social media updates, marketing, etc.

Candidates must be responsible, self-motivated and have excellent time management skills. Must be available for flexible hours including night and weekend responsibilities. Candidates must be a current student of an accredited university pursuing a bachelor’s degree in recreation or a related field.  Candidates must possess a valid driver’s license and transportation to work.  Internships are available year round during the spring, summer and fall.
